Continuous MEO Process: The Study on Electrochemical Cell Characteristics and Model Fitting to Organic Oxidation |
초록 |
Electrochemical cells of various electrode materials and geometries were constructed and their performances for electrochemical regeneration of Ce(IV), which is essential for a continuous mediated-electrochemical-oxidation (MEO) process, were studied. Volt-amperic curves and cerium(III) electrolysis data conformed “limiting current” approach for anodic process. A new model is proposed to calculate a cerium consumption current in organic destruction MEO process and a number of “standard” cells for maintaining cerium(III)/cerium(IV) ratio at the same level. The model is based on a limiting current approach for cerium(III) oxidation at anode and previously derived by us continuous mode organic destruction model. Additionally cerium oxidation current was corrected by oxygen evolution. |
