Green Pesticide: Discovery of active ingredients and Application |

Currently, more than 17,000 pesticide products are currently on the market. In sustainable agriculture systems, green pesticides may display to be alternatives to synthetic pesticides and make significant contributions to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) tools. The application of them may help reduce on the use of extremely toxic pesticides. In our studies of the discovery of green pesticides from Vietnamese plant resources, the medicinal plants and phytochemicals with strong activities against phytopathogenic fungi and bacteria were detected and identified. Active substances could be useful as lead structures and inspire chemists to prepare new derivatives with improved biological activities. The further formulation researches could be conducted to increase the control efficacy and the field trials of these green pesticides should be applied on various crops. |
