The LED has been studied for their low power consumption, and long-term stability. For light efficiency, it is required to fabricate encapsulant having high transparency and refractive index. Sol-gel oligosiloxane derived hybrid materials (hybrimers) shows improved thermal resistance, compared with the silicone encapsulant. In this study, phenyl hybrimer was fabricated by a hydrosilylation reaction of a vinyl and hydrogen oligosiloxane resins under a platinum (Pt) catalyst. The oligosiloxane resins were synthesized by sol-gel reaction of methylvinyldimethoxysilane or methyldiethoxysilane, and diphenylsilanediol. The resins showed high degree of condensation and molecular size by forming a linear structure with deceased steric hindrance. An amount of Pt catalyst was reduced to improve thermal resistance at 180 ℃. The hybrimer showed high transparency and refractive index up to 1.57. It was encapsulated to fabricate LED, and thereby can be applicable to high performance LED. |
