제목 Chitosan-lipoic acid graft copolymer for drug delivery system
초록 Chitosan (CH), a cationic polysaccharide, is produced by the deacetylation of chitin. The advantages of chitosan are the biocompatibility, biodegradability and non-toxicity. It is used widely in the pharmaceutical field. Lipoic acid (LA) is multifunctional antioxidant. It helps in the regeneration of exogenous and endogenous anti-oxidants such as Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Hydrophilic CH was synthesized with hydrophobic LA to form amphiphilic copolymer. This copolymer of CH-LA could form self-assembled nanoparticles in aqueous solution. Their sizes were ca. 300nm measured by TEM and DLS. Fluorouracil could be loaded in the hydrophobic core of nanoparticles by the dialysis method. The loading efficiency and the release profiles of the CH-LA nanoparticles were measured by HPLC.
