Development of polyethylenmine(PEI)-coated waste polyacrylonitrile(PAN) fiber for recoverly of Pt(IV) |
초록 |
The increasing demand and the limited resource for precious metals lead to the urgent recovery of these noble metals from wastewater solutions. Among various recovering technologies, sorption is the most effective method because it is low-cost and has high recovery performance. But the main drawbacks of traditional sorbents are the slow kinetics and relatively low sorption capacities. Thin fiber form sorbents generally have fast kinetics towards target metal ions due to their larger surface areas with much more binding sites. Therefore, in the present study, waste polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber was selected as a basic material to develop a fiber type sorbent i.e. polyethylenmine (PEI)-coated waste PAN fiber in order to recover Pt(IV) from acid solutions. Batch sorption and column experiments were conducted to evaluate the sorption performance and the results revealed that the PEI-coated waste PAN fiber has fast kinetics and good uptake for Pt(IV) recovery. |
