Further development in the desalination and water softening technologies is necessary by this situation. Among many water treatment technologies, capacitive deionization (CDI) is attractive technology for water softening by very low capacitive current of electrochemical double layer. In this study, we use a chemical and thermal method to create novel Graphene-Fe3O4 nano composition material (rGO-Fe3O4). The combination of two materials enable to against restacking and agglomerating of graphene layers by loading of iron oxide particles between graphene sheets, improve hydrophilicity, electric conductivity and enhance ion adsorption ability of CDI cell system. Additionally, the rGO–Fe3O4 composites show much higher specific capacitances than either pure rGO or pure Fe3O4 which improve extremely water softening efficiency. |
