제목 24 h Extended Release of Nifedipine-Solid Dispersion Using Multi-layer Tablet.
초록 Nifedipine(ND) is mainly used for treatment of antianginal and antihypertensive. It is small water-soluble drug. So we prepared solid dispersion for improvement of dissolution rate. However, it has the limitation of maximum dose about 30 mg/day. Also, It has half-life of 1.5 to 2 h. It is essential to extend the release of ND. Therefore, the aim of this study is to control the release of ND through the multi-layer formulation for 24 h. The out layer of tablet used gel-forming polymers as release controlling agent. The prepared solid dispersion is analyzed by SEM, FT-IR, XRD and DSC. The prepared multi-layer tablet is characterized by swelling and water uptake & matrix erosion assays. The release behavior of ND from the prepared multi-layer tablet is confirmed through in vitro assay. This study is suggested that the multi-layer formulation has an impact potential in oral pharmaceutical industry.
