There are many color emitters for white luminescence such as conducting polymer, quantum dot, inorganic phosphor, organic dye and their combinations. Among these, organic dye is an attractive one for LED phosphor due to broad absorption and emission, affordable price, and ease of fabrication. Recently, we reported dye-bridged siloxane hybrid materials (DBH) which are single-body system of dye and matrix consisting of sol-gel oligosiloxane for white LEDs. However, it shows unfavorable photostablility during the LED operation. In this study, we modified the composition and fabrication of DBH to improve photostability. The red and green DBH are synthesized by sol-gel condensation of the DCM and Phenothiazine derivative dyes bridged to alkoxysilane, respectively. Then, the fluorinated siloxane hybrid matrix and antioxidant are used to enhance the photostability. Also, DBH is prepared with vacuum process to remove oxygen. These new attempts can lead to improved photostability of white LED. |
