One of the synthetic woods, WPC is composed of thermoplastic resin and wood flour. As a thermoplastic resin, 70％ of them are used polyethylene(PE), 20％ are used Polyvinylchloride(PVC), and the rest 10％ are used Polypropylene(PP). But the possibility of releasing endocrine disruptor, PVC has been limited in its use. On the other hands, the use of PP is increasing because of thermal resistance and mechanical strength of that resin. In this presentation, characteristics of PP-based WPC and manufacturing technology trends of WPC will be announced. |
