Hinokitiol-containing cationic vesicles formed by salt bridge for in vitro skin permeation |

Cationic vesicles composed of behenyl trimethylammonium chloride (BTAC) and stearic acid (SA) were prepared by a evaporation method. The skin permeation study was observed using hairless mouse skin mounted on a diffusion cell for 18 hrs. HKL dissolved in ethanol or propylene glycol solutions was also investigated for comparison. According to the results, the vesicles containing HKL were successfully prepared. Moreover, the amount of HKL in cationic vesicles transported to the receptor cell was more than those in the ethanol or propylene glycol. BTAC/SA vesicles could be used for the carriers of HKL and enhance the skin permeation of HKL. |
