Effect of oxides on thermal properties and adhesion strength of vanadium-phosphate sealing glass |
초록 |
Glass sealing materials are favorable for vacuum insulation window glasses due to the higher adhesion strength, reliability and stable hermetic sealing compared to epoxy or metal sealants. However, it is required thatthe glass sealants should be sinterable at a low temperature (< 400oC). In addition, the adhesion strength of the fritswhich needs to be improved is a major consideration. In this study, V2O5-P2O5-ZnO glass systemshave been investigated as a sealing material by adding oxides to improve the adhesion between the frits and asoda lime glass. Thetherrmal expansion coefficients(CTE) of as-fabricated glasses were measured using adilatometry, and the viscous behavior of the frits with increasing temperature was observed using a hot stage microscopy. Adhesion strength was measured by a motorized test stand. The results show that the adhesion strength of frits between two soda-lime substrates increasesas the amount of oxidesincreaseseven though there is not much a change in the softening point and CTE. It is thought that the improvement ofadhesion strength isresulted from the glass structurechanged by the addition of oxides. From these results, adhesion mechanisms between frits and soda-lime glass substrate can be established for low-temperature sinterable sealing glass. |
