This work describes local temperature measurements using fluorescence wavelength shift of CdSe/ZnS quantum dots (QDs).The core shell structure was utilized to enhance the fluorescence intensity of the QDs. Photoluminescence spectra were the key tool to show the temperature differences.This phenomenon can be digitized through optical readout by binding the QDs on the surface of the optical fiber. After this, the optical fiber was further coated with metal such as gold and aluminum to increase the sensitive.Temperature profile of three different sizes of QDs under different local temperature was evaluatedbased on the shift of the photoluminescence spectra. The results indicate the CdSe/ZnS QDs can be utilized as the temperature sensing media. |
