As people's life expectancy has dramatically increased, skin aging becomes one of serious concerns. Accordingly, research on formulations with antioxidant effects relevant to skin care is steadily explored. In this study, an alginate hybridized with a naturally derived functional compound was prepared by incorporating a natural extract in an alginate composite, and its properties were carefully analyzed. Characteristics such as the physical morphology, chemical state of the composite, and antioxidant ability of the composite were analyzed using SEM, FT-IR, UV-VIS, and DPPH assay. In addition, the biocompatibility of the hybrid hydrogel was confirmed using fibroblasts. Based on the experimental results, it was confirmed that the effective efficacy of the hybrid composite developed in this study for skin aging could be improved. |
