제목 Nafion/silica composite membrane enhanced with PTFE film for zinc-bromine redox flow battery
초록 One of the energy storage system, redox flow battery has advantages of the energy efficiency, long life-cycle and low costs compared with other technologies. However, it has limitations in crossover of bromine and low strength as commercialized membranes for zinc-bromine redox flow battery. In this study, mixed solution were prepared with Nafion solution and silica dispersion solution by the solution blending and they were impregnated in porous PTFE film. This composite membranes will be employed as the separator for redox flow battery. The characteristic and morphology were investigated by SEM, UTM and LCR meter. The bromine permeability of the membrane was measured with the UV-VIS spectrophotometer. The silica particles and PTFE film might reduce the permeation of bromine through the membrane and enhance the mechanical properties.
