Effects of Anionic and Cationic Surfactants on Synthesis of ZnO Powder by Glycol Process |

ZnO is considered as a promising material and widely used in many fields because of its advanced properties such as high specific resistance, wide band gap energy, large exciton, low resistivity, inexpensive and abundance. In this study, we have used zinc acetate dehydrate as a starting material, 1,4-butanediol as a solvents and ammonium hydroxide as an additives at 150 °C for 30 minutes by glycol process. The properties of ZnO have been characterized by XRD, FE-SEM, TEM and Zetasizer particle size analysis. In this conditions, Hexagonal rods shape of ZnO powders with diameter of 20-50 nm and about 1 µm in length were successfully synthesized. In addition, we also have added anionic and cationic surfactant to investigate the effect on the morphology of ZnO powders and found that the morphology was changed by using these surfactants. |
