제목 Solvent additive to achieve highly-ordered nanostructural semicrystalline DPP copolymers: toward a high charge carrier mobility
초록 Chloroform is a general solvent with a low surface tension and is used to solvate diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP)-based copolymer active layers during the preparation of organic field-effect transistors. Solvents with low boiling points evaporate over short periods of time that are insufficient to facilitate self-organization and chain alignment of during the growth of a highly crystalline film. The present study describes a strategy for slowing down the evaporation rate and increasing the time available for polymer chain alignment. 1-chloronaphthalene (CN) was added to a chloroform solution. PDPPDBTE transistors prepared from this solution offered a high carrier mobility of 0.46 cm2/Vs on an octadecyltrichlorosilane-treated ZrOx dielectric layer. The molecular ordering improved and efficient interchain stacking was induced within the thin films using a solvent additive. We also found that the effects of the CN additive depended on the crystalline characteristics of the polymers.
