제목 The cellular behavior of adipose-derived stromal cells on micro-pillar/hole patterned surfaces.
초록 The surface topography of artificial culture substrate is distinctly different from that of natural extracellular matrix so that it would be difficult to expect normal cellular functions of it. Introducing surface topography on the cell growing substrates would be able to avoid limitations of the current culture substrate. In present study, we utilized two types of micro-structure patterned surface as a cell culture substrate that were protruded cylinders (micropillar) and hollow cylinders (microhole) of 4 μm diameter and 1 μm height. Human adipose-derived stromal cells (ASCs) were seeded on them and then their adhesion, proliferation and differentiation were observed. It was revealed that micro-pillar patterned surface induced higher ASC adhesion, proliferation and differentiation compared to flat or micro-hole patterned surface. Thus, micro-pillar patterned surface would be useful to regulate cell function of ASCs more effectively than flat and micro-hole patterned surface.
