Supercapacitor is a prominent energy strorage with fast charging capabilities. Recently, a high-capacity supercapacitor with 3 dimensional elctrodoes has drawn much attention. In this study, we assembled all-hydrogel supercapacitor with 3 main components: current collectors, electrodes and electrolyte. As the hydrogel forms the interface between the parts make conformal contacts. They are in contact seamlessly with each other. As a result the resistance of interface between the electrodes and electrolyte is significantly reduced. Subsequently, the agar/AC electrodes were integrated with agar-based solid electrolyte containing NaCl. With these integrations, the specific capacitance of the supercapacitor was 155 mF/cm2 at 0.5 mA/cm2. The flexible, all-polymer supercapacitor sustains electric stability from mechanical deforamtions and charging-discharging cycles. The study has shown the potential of hydogle as a 3D electrode for supercapacitors. |
