제목 All-trans retinoic acid-incorporated nanoparticles of methoxy poly (ethylene glycol)-grafted-chitosan and its antitumor activity against CT-26 colon carcinoma cell
초록 All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA)-incorporated nanoparticles were prepared using water-soluble chitosan (WSC) and methoxy poly(ethylene glycol)-grafted chitosan (ChitoPEG) copolymer to test its antitumor potential at in vitro and in vivo. ATRA-incorporated nanoparticles of WSC and ChitoPEG copolymer were prepared through ion-complex formation between chitosan and ATRA. Their antitumor potential was studied using pulmonary metastasis model of CT26 colon carcinoma cells. Nanoparticles were completely able to reconstitute into various aqueous solution without aid of cryoprotectants. Nanoparticles of ChitoPEG copolymer showed significantly longer blood plasma level than drug itself and WSC nanoparticles. Even though its antiproliferation activity of nanoparticles for CT 26 cells at in vitro was less than ATRA itself, antitumor activity at in vivo was higher than drug.
