Application of Na-β-alumina membrane in non-aqueous redox flow battery is few, except molten sodium or sodium sulfur batteries applications. In order to harvest high energy density and power density, the Na-β-alumina tubular membrane can be a good choice but, electrolyte effect can determine their potential use. Here in, the Na-β-alumina membrance performance evaluated using different type and concentration of electrolytes on vanadium (III) acetylacetonate charging and discharging performance in acetonitrile medium. Electrolyte type and concentration were selected based on the solution resistance using impedance analysis. Then, charging-discharging of Na-β-alumina was performed by galvanostatic mode using 0.01 mA/cm2 and 0.0015 mA/cm2 charging and discharging respectively. A columbic and energy efficiencies were calculated using the charging-discharging data. |
