Since Kojima et al. reported a liquid-junction metal halide perovskite (MHP)-sensitized solar cell, the MHPs have attracted great attention because of their unique properties such as high absorption coefficient, long carrier diffusion length, ambipolar charge transportability, small exciton binding energy, and solution processaibility. Thanks to the intensive studies, currently the record efficiency of single junction and tandem solar cells reached over 25 % and 29 % at 1 sun. However, the single junction MHP solar cells with record efficiency are composed of organic and inorganic hybrid MHPs to make proper bandgap for ideal solar cell. However, the top cell for tandem solar cells has more room to select materials in terms of bandgap. Here we would like to talk recent progress of inorganic MHP solar cells, which can be used as top cell for tandem device. |
