We study CO2 capture/release behavior of the mixtures of amidine, alcohol, and solvent. Some of the absorbent mixtures exhibit phase-changing behavior on absorption/desorption of CO2; the absorbent mixture phase-separate into the carbonated and un-carbonated phases as CO2gas is supplied. The phase-changing absorption behavior of the absorbent mixtures are tested with varying the condition such as the ratio of amidine to alcohol, the concentration of mixture, the type of amidine, alcohol and the solvent, the absorption/desorption temperature and feed flow rate. We also investigate how the presence of solvent affect the CO2 capture capacity in the absorption/desorption cycles. |
