제목 Reversible CO2 capture and release by non-aqueous solutions of multi-functional amidine/alcohol mixtures
초록 Several multi-functional amidines were prepared from commercially available mono-, di- or tri- functional aliphatic or aromatic amine by reacting with N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal. These materials were mixed with a non-aqueous alcoholic solution consisting of ethylene glycol (EG) and organic solvent with high boiling point. We investigated the CO2 capture and release properties of the mixtures which varies with the chemical structure of amidines, EG/amidine ratio, and organic solvent addition. Consequently, we found that a sufficient stoichiometric amount of EG is needed to obtain a maximum CO2 capture capacity per amidine group. Through the addition of organic solvent to the mixture, we also found that the mixture has higher CO2 absorption rate and lower viscosity than the neat mixture.
