Metal nanoparticles have been studied for the catalytic hydrolysis of ammonia borane which is a promising solid hydrogen carrier because of its high hydrogen capacity, nontoxicity, and good chemical stability at room temperature. In this study, Co nanoparticles supported on nanofibers were prepared and their catalytic activity was investigated. PVA/Si composite nanofibers were obtained by electrospinning and were chemically modified by [3-(2-aminoethylamino)propyl] trimethoxysilane. Co nanoparticles were synthesized via reduction of Co2+ ions in DMSO in the presence of amine-functionalized PVA/Si composite nanofibers. The nanoparticles were found on the nanofibers without agglomeration. |
