Carbon black (CB) is a representative conducting additive for a battery electrode owing to the its high electrical conductivity. However, the reversibility is poor, and initial Coulombic efficiency (ICE) is low that it cannot be used as an electrode material for Li- and Na-ion batteries. Here, we introduce the superior CB as a high-performance conducting additive for Li- and Na-ion batteries by two-step approach of amorphization and pre-lithiataion/sodiation. Based on the its high electrochemical performance of CB, it contributes to high electrical conductivity and increase of ICE and the reversible capacity for Li- and Na-ion battery anode materials. |
