Preparationof chitosan film with caffeine-loaded mesoporous silica for transdermaldelivery |

Obesity causes varies kinds of diseases, particularly heart related disease, diabetes, and osteoarthritis, etc. Caffeine is one of anti-obesity material, and it is main ingredient in many obesity controlling products. The ultimate aim of this study is to prepare film that releases the caffeine for certain period. The caffeine- loaded film should release the drug continuously once the consumer put on. At the same time, the caffeine-loaded film should maintain the releasing ability even after several laundries. In order to achieve this goal, caffeine is loaded in mesoporous silica nanoparticles, and the caffeine containing mesoporous silica was imbedded in chitosan. Chitosan film having caffeine containing silica is considered as materials attached to the clothing. The loading efficiency of caffeine into mesoporous silica was evaluated and the releasing profile was investigated. Laundry durability was also measured. |
