Antimicrobial Activity of Surface Coated from Catechol Conjugated Polyquaternary Amine and Silver nanoparticles on Versatile Substrates |

We have prepared an antimicrobial polymeric materials composed of 2-chloro-3′, 4′-dihydroxyacetophenone (CCDP) and antimicrobial agent of 1-bromooctance (C8) quaternized PPO-g-PDMA. The prepared antimicrobial coating can use as substrate independent manner by using adhesive property of CCDP. Moreover the antimicrobial activity can further improved through imobilization of AgNPs over this modified surface. As a results the coated antimicrobial polymer shows antimicrobial efficiency against E. Coli and S. aureus at lower alkyl chain belong to octane chain, where the AgNPs deposited coating surface clearly shown antimicrobial activity both octane alkyl chain. Therefore the AgNPs deposited antimicrbial adhesive material [(CCDP/C8)-q-(PPO-g-PDMA)] promise a great potentiallity to apply wide range of substrate. |
