제목 Branched polymeric photosensitizer targets influenza envelope viral protein for directly inactivation
초록  Conventional drugs against influenza virusefficacy were declined in treatment because of mutations and resistance of thevirus. We have synthesized branched polymeric photosensitizer (BPP), which hasreceptor abundant structure, that was designed to multivalent interaction withinfluenza virus and induced photochemically virus inactivation. BPP wascomposed of polysaccharide, biomimetic receptor, and a photosensitizer. It wasconfirmed via experiment of molecular level that the BPP interacts with virusenvelope protein. Furthermore, the interaction between BPP and virus isvisually verified via the actual images. BPP disrupted the virus infection moreeffectively than conventional antiviral drugs. The antiviral effect of BPP isincreased in light-irradiation by viral membrane disruption to photochemicaleffect. In addition, the virus inhibitory effect was confirmed in animal modelsagainst influenza virus. These features provide a new type of treatmentparadigm for viral infection.
