Polyethylene Glycol-Incoporated Mesoporous TiO2 Films for the Effective Differentiation of Mesenchymal Stem Cells |

Regardless of rapid development of medical industry, losing function of bone is frequent and has great influence on life. One potential field for recovering bone function is tissue engineering. Though there are many ways of applying tissue engineering technology on bone tissue, using artificial bone composed of Ti with stem cell-induced osteoblasts on TiO2 surface is studied extensively. In this study, PEG hydrogel is incorporated with bone morphogenetic protein 2 immobilized mesoporous TiO2 film. In order to compare the osteogenic differentiation degree, TiO2 with different porosity and PEG pattern size was seeded with mesenchymal stem cell and cultured, and ALP assay and alizarin red S staining was used. To confirm the results, cell viability test, fluorescence imaging, XPS spectra are also introduced. Experimental result showed the PEG hydrogel incorporated TiO2 plate can control the cell-cell interaction, which is one of the important issue in tissue engineering area. |
