Two - dimensional Ni3V2O8/Ni nanostructured electrodes for high-performance Asymmetric supercapacitor applications |

Binder-free 2D nanosheet Ni3V2O8 nanostructures were grown on Ni foam (NVO/Ni) using a facile hydrothermal method for electrochemical capacitor applications. The microstructural results show that NVO/Ni samples revealed an orthorhombic Ni3V2O8 phase at a concentration of 1M LiOH as a reducing agent during the synthesis process. The synergetic impact of the rough surface 2D nanostructures deposited directly on Ni-foam provides more electroactive sites for the faradaic/capacitive reactions, which are widely used for energy storage. The NVO/Ni electrode delivered a specific capacitance of 1298 F/g at a current density of 1 A/g and excellent cycling stability (84.5% at 4 A/g) after 4000 cycles. The electrochemical traits of these electrodes confirm the superiority of NVO/Ni electrode for supercapacitor applications. |
