Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) is widely used in medical, health and industrial products due to its flexibility and excellent processability. In addition to this advantage, the thermoplastic polyurethane containing N3 group can be used in various fields as it can introduce desired functional groups through azide-alkyne click reaction. We even expect to be able to synthesize polyurethanes containing nucleobases through click reactions. First, we synthesized a polyol having a Cl group, Poly (ECH-co-THF) diol (PET), by using ECH, a cyclic ether having a Cl group, and THF. At this time, the molecular weight can be easily adjusted by adjusting the 1,4-Butanediol(BDO) content. After that, poly (GAP-co-THF) diol (PGT) was synthesized by substituting the Cl group with N3 group with sodium azide. Finally, 1,4-Butanediol(BDO), 4,4'-Diphenylmethane diisocyanate (MDI) and catalyst was added to this (GAP-co-THF) diol PGT to synthesize azido-TPU. |
