The band gap (Eg) and open circuit voltage (Voc) are very important factor for improving photon conversion efficiency (IPCE) of photovoltaic devices (PVs). To get low band gap and high Voc, we introduce 4,7-di-thiophen-2-yl-benzo[1,2,5]thiadiazole (BT). Also, morphology of the blend of -conjugated polymer and PCBM is important factor for improving PV efficiency. The monomers with very planar structure would be very helpful for improving the morphology of active layer so that we introduce 2,2’-(9,10-Bis-hexyloxy-phenanthrene-2-yl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethyl-[1,3,2]dioxaborolane (DROPh), which has very planar geometry. In this presentation, we will report synthesis, optical, and electrochemical properties of new copolymers. Also, the PV properties based on blend of new copolymer and PCBM will be discussed. |
