제목 Reversible Sol-Gel Transition of Silicone Oil via Supramolecular Interactions between Surface-Modified Hectorite Nanoplatelets
초록 This study introduces reversible sol-gel transition of silicone oil by inducing shear-responsive supramolecular interaction between hectorite nanopletelets and molecular crosslinkers. For this, we used an attractive hectorite nanoplatelets (AHNPs), in which the surface of hectorite nanoplatelets were hydrophobically modified by using a cationic surfactant, dimethyldioctadecylammonium chloride. Then, we attempted to modify the edge of AHNPs by chemical combining of - cyclodextrin. In addition, we were able to induce the supramolecular interaction via combined hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction in the presence of a molecular crosslinker, curcumin. Manipulation of the supramolecular interaction between AHNPs and curcumin allowed us to reversibly controlled the sol-gel transition rheology behavior in the silicone oil, thus making this system a promising silicon gel rheology controller.
