A Study on the Ion Exchange Characteristics of Commercial Anion Exchange Resins |

Ion exchange resin is used to purify wastewater or to produce pure water in a variety of industries. It is also applied as analytical material in various equipments. Pre-experimental data proved that anion exchange resins can be used to monitor bicarbonate ion dissolved in pure water. However it was important for ion exchange resin to have fast response time to be used as an bicarbonate monitoring material. Several commercial anion exchange resins were tested to find optimal anion exchange resin for the development of the bicarbonate monitoring system. Experimental results showed that Sulfate form DIAION SA21AP has good performances in response time for the tests of water flushing after resin regeneration processes, for the reaction of ion exchange with dissolved bicarbonate ion, and for the test of water flushing after the ion exchange reaction.
