We demonstrate feasible creation of an ordered array of bimodal nanoparticles by utilizing a mixture of diblock copolymer micelles having bimodal size distributions. For binary mixtures of small and large micelles, independently-prepared solutions of each micelle were mixed. By adjusting both size and number ratios of small to large micelles in the mixtures, we were able to fabricate patterns in which small micelles were located between hexagonally ordered large micelles. With the pattern of micelles having two different sizes, arrays of two different types of nanoparticles were effectively produced with maintaining the bimodal pattern. Moreover, switching of the location of two different types of nanoparticles was feasible by exchanging the precursors of nanoparticles incorporated in large and small micelles. |
