In current studies, effective detecting of specific biomolecules in the media has many challenging issues. Among them, blocking non-specific interaction with biomolecules and having a high affinity to the target biomolecule may be the most important requirements for development of high performing sensors. In our previous work, we reported promising results in bio-inert and functional multilayer films. In this study, we applied those functional coatings to the colloidal magnetic nanoparticles. These functional coatings are consisted of poly(allylamine hydrochloride) and poly(acrylic acid) with a fine tuning of the assembly condition. The coatings on the magnetic nanoparticle provide bio-inertness to prevent non-specific bio-molecular adsorption. And those particles allow introducing bio-active molecules on the surface by bio-conjugation. We also applied this system to micro-fluidic device and tested antigen detections. |
