Biocides are chemical substances which can ruin, render harmless, prevent the action of, or exert a controlling effect on any harmful organism. Many kinds of disinfectants functioning a kind of biocides have been developed to inhibit microbial contamination in humidifiers. Recently, the pulmonary toxicity of the biocides has emerged as a big problematic issue due to the possible severe lung injury. However, the cause of lung disease has not been clearly identified so far. Here, we designed and synthesized the novel chemical receptors with different functional groups, which were tested for detecting biocides of interest. |
