제목 Effect of Castor Oil on Mechanical and Biodegradable Behaviors of Flexible Polyurethane Foams
초록 Molded flexible polyurethane(PU) foams have been synthesized from polyether polyol, castor oil based polyol and 2,4/2,6-toluene diisocyanate (TDI-80) following the one shot foaming method in the presence of water as the chemical blowing agent, silicone surfactant, cell-opener, blowing catalyst and tin catalyst. The effects of castor oil based polyol content on the performance of the foams have been extensively analyzed in terms of reactivity, cell morphology, mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties and biodegradable behavior of the foams. In addition, biodegradability of the foams was investigated by buffer solution tests. The castor oil based foams showed much faster weight loss than the conventional foams.
