Biodegradable polymers are used for a variety of biomedical fields. However, their polymers have various limitations, such as long degradation time and poor mechanical property. It is expected that these problems can be controlled by blending various additives and also by regulating the molecular weight and blending ratio of each polymer. In this study, the helical type of PLLA biodegradable stents was prepared with various additives. The sirolimus (SRL)-loaded polymer solution was sprayed onto the helical stent surface using ultrasonic nanocoating. The cumulative release of SRL was calculated by HPLC measurement. To evaluate its partially self-expandable property, swelling behavior of polymeric stent was measured in PBS solution (pH 7.4) at 37℃. We can obtain controllable release-profiles by using various biodegradable polymers and coating thickness and apply this polymer to vascular stent. |
