Micelles formed from amphiphilic diblock copolymers have been explored for many years. In the block copolymer solutions, micelle-like aggregates of spherical geometry have been identified in many studies. The spherical micelle consists of a core formed by association of the insoluble block and a spherical corona shell formed by the soluble block. Many groups have introduced their own micelle systems which contain a unique hydrophilic-hydrophobic combination. Recently, Eisenberg et al. reported the multiple morphologies of micelles including spherical micelle, large compound micelle, cylinder-like micelle and vesicle with poly(styrene-b-acrylic acid)). In this study, Poly(arylene ether sulfone)-b-functionalized poly(arylene ether sulfone) copolymer was synthesized by step polymerization via conventional SNAr reaction, and their micelle formation behavior was investigated. |
