제목 | Behavior of Bone Marrow Stromal Cells on Protein- or Polypeptide-coated PLGA Scaffolds for Tissue Engineering |
초록 | The interaction of cells with polymeric surfaces is important for a variety of biomedical and biotechnological applications. In many cases, surfaces supporting the proliferation of adherent cells have been coated with a cell-adhesive protein or polypeptide. In this study, several proteins or polypeptides known as cell-adhesive were coated by adsorption on polymeric surfaces and bone marrow stromal cell adhesion and proliferation behavior on those surfaces were compared. Poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) scaffolds were prepared by solvent casting/salt leaching method from mixtures composed of PLGA and NaCl as porogen (size range of 250 to 425 μm). The proteins and polypeptides used include collagen type IV, fibrinogen, laminin, gelatin, fibronectin, poly(L-lysine), and poly(D-lysine) and then they were adsorbed on the PLGA scaffolds. In conclusion, this study demonstrated that the surface characteristics of the PLGA scaffold play an important role for cell behavior for the application of the tissue engineering.
