제목 | Preparation of pH-sensitive chitosan-based hydrogels for controlled release system. |
초록 | In gastric retention device, application of conventional hydrogels was limited by their slow and low swelling ratio. The purpose of this study was to develop swelling properties of chitosan-based hydrogels by forming porous structure. Open channel structure was formed by interconnected pores, so that water was absorbed into the dried hydrogel by capillary phenomenon as well as diffusion. Because chitosan have rich amine group, chitosan-based hydrogels swell low-pH. Sodium bicarbonate was added to hydrogels as a foaming agent under acidic condition, and then the hydrogels were put in freeze-drier during drying process, rendering the hydrogel to be porous. The hydrogels were charaterized for their swelling properties, morphology and pH dependence. Swelling studies were performed at pH 1.2 (SGF) and pH 7 (SIF).
