제목 Study on the rheological and the mechanical properties of Nanoclay reinforced Ethylene-Propylene-Diene-Monomer rubber nanocomposites
초록 In recent years, Ethylene-propylene-diene-monomer (EPDM) rubber has been studied to replace fluorine rubber used in vehicle gasket. Nanoclay can be used to improve properties by incorporating low contents in the polymer matrix compared with traditional fillers. These characteristics include strength and storage modulus, heat resistance, thermal stability, gas barrier properties etc. In this study, three kinds of nanoclay/EPDM nanocomposite were prepared with peroxide curing system. Used nanoclay is as follows: Na+ MMT, Cloisite 15A, Cloisite 20A. The experimental results from X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), atomic force microscopy (AFM) showed that EPDM intercalated the nanoclay galleries. And the rheological properties of EPDM/nanoclay nanocomposites were analyzed by Oscillation disk rheometer (ODR), Moving die Rheometer (MDR) and Capillary rheometer. Mechanical properties were measured by tensile strength and elongation.
