Facile synthesis of Calcium and Cobalt co-doped ZnO Nanocapsules for High Performance Energy Storage Supercapacitor Applications |

In this, calcium (Ca) and Cobalt (Co) co-doped ZnO capsules (Ca-Co@ZnO) was fabricated by facile and single step hydrothermal process. The Ca-Co@ZnO catalyst physical, chemical and morphological properties were analyzed by using characterization techniques. The Ca-Co@ZnO showed a remarkable supercapacitor performance with 3M KOH aqueous electrolyte, which showed a 632 F g-1 specific capacitance at 0.5 A g-1 current density. However, it was more than 2.5 times higher than the pristine ZnO capsule, 1.5 and 1 times higher than the Ca@ZnO and Co@ZnO, respectively. The Ca-Co@ZnO showed more than 50% of capacity retention at higher current density and also showed the strong cyclic stability up to 5000 cycles with only 8% of capacity loss. The Ca-Co@ZnO//Ca-Co@ZnO symmetric device showed a 120 F g-1 specific capacitance at 0.5 A g-1 current density and 25.9 Wh Kg-1 energy density at 556.6 W kg-1 power density. |
