제목 Investigation of Lipid Productivity as Biochemical Composition
초록 Lipid productivity is generally considered more important factor than lipid contents. In this study, two strains of marine microalgae, T. sp. MBEyh01L (KCTC12429BP) and N. oculata K-1281 (SCCAP) were compared for their performance. While in N. oculata, the lipid content was increased to 31% from 11% after 3 days of nitrogen starvation, the lipid contents was increased to 9.6% from 4.9% in T. sp. On the other hand, a drastic increase. In carbohydrate content from 16% to 48% was observed in T. sp. while that in the N. oculata was increased from 12% to 16% after 3 days of nitrogen starvation. Although the lipid content was about 3 times higher in N. oculata, the lipid productivity was 46% higher in T. sp. due to the greater biomass productivity. This study showed that biomass productivity is also important for achieving high lipid productivity.
