제목 Effect of Pore Size Distribution on Separation Efficiency in Carbon Molecular Sieve
초록 In this study, pitch-derived carbon molecular sieves (PCMS) were prepared using steam activation. The microstructural properties of PCMS were observed using X-ray diffraction. The pore characteristics of PCMS were determined using CO2/273 K adsorption isotherms. Single and mixed gas adsorption experiments were performed at different pressures between 1 and 10 bar. The specific surface areas and total pore volumes of the PCMSs were observed 280-790 m2/g and 0.11-0.32 cm3/g, respectively. The carbon membrane shows high selectivities for the separation of permanent gases like CO2/CH4 and CO2/H2 system. Gas mixtures like CO2/CH4 and CO2/H2 are successfully separated by means of prepared PCMS.
