제목 Microwave-assisted synthesis of a bimetallic metal organic framework and its application as catalyst for cyclic carbonate synthesis
초록 Efficient strategies for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, primarily CO2, are needed. Thus, the development of CO2 capture and sequestration/storage (CCS) technologies that involve catalyst-mediated reactions such as CO2 capture, transportation, and storage is essential. MOFs are a new and emerging class of porous material that have been dynamically investigated as catalysts for the synthesis of cyclic carbonates owing to its greater CO2 affinity. Herein, we have studied microwaved-assisted synthesized Bimetallic Ni-Co MOF(M) for their cyclic carbonate synthesis catalytic ability. The PXRD patterns and FT-IR analysis elucidate the successful synthesis of the Ni-Co MOF(M). The co-existence of the Ni and Co on the same crystallite was also proved through the XPS and ICP analysis. The combination of Ni-Co MOF(M) with tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (TBAB) yielded promising ECH conversion with high selectivity. The bimetallic framework (Ni-Co-MOF) exhibits higher catalytic activity than those of the Ni-MOF and Co-MOF and their physical combination (Ni-MOF + Co-MOF). Recyclability studies over a minimum of six cycles are conducted and a plausible reaction mechanism is also proposed
