제목 Synthesis of the IrO2/TiO2 catalyst coated titanium porous transport layer (PTL) for the oxygen evolution reaction in PEMWE
초록 Titanium PTL plays a vital role in PEMWE as it conducts heat and charge as well as transports water and product gases. However, the high and long-term positive potential on the anode side induces oxidation of Ti, resulting in system degradation. In this study, to prevent the oxidation of Ti, an IrO2/TiO2 protective catalyst layer was deposited on the Ti-PTL surface by spray coating and thermal treatment. The IrO2/TiO2 coated sample showed a better performance towards OER compared to the commercial IrO2(c-IrO2) coated sample. Tafel analysis and charge transfer resistance also confirmed the good performance of the IrO2/TiO2 coated sample. After the stability test (cyclic voltammetry after 100 cycles), the IrO2/TiO2 coated sample showed better durability than the pristine PTL and c-IrO2 coated sample​.​
