Perovskite-Si tandem solar cells have attracted significant academic and industrial interest due to their skyrocketing conversion efficiencies (> 29%). In this presentation, strategies for achieving a high matching current and photovoltage, and thus a high conversion efficiency of the perovskite/Si tandem solar cells will be introduced, especially focusing on the photon management and defect passivation. In addition, a 3-terminal characterization platform for solving critical characterization issues of the tandem solar cells will be introduced. It has been found that the bandgap engineering of the perovskite top cells while maintaining high efficiencies, interfacial engineering of the charge-transporting layers, and the quality of the TCO-based window layers are very important for achieving high conversion efficiencies. As a result, a high conversion efficiency of > 28% has been achieved with flat Si bottom cells. |
