제목 | Superstructure-based identification of optimal carbon capture and utilization pathways using state-equipment network representation |
초록 | Deployments of CCU technologies have been limited due to their low TRLs leading to high levels of uncertainties on theireconomics and CO2 reduction potential. For the identification of optimal CCU technologiesin terms of their contributions to sustainability, a superstructure model, agraph network representation, is commonly adopted so that process systems engineering (PSE) methods and tools canbe applied. Within this, state-task and equipment representations turn out to be convenientfor the identification of optimal pathways. With such, we can employ mathematical programming techniques to systematicallyidentify optimal processing pathways with the highest sustainability potential,i.e., those that maximize both emission reduction and profitability giving aPareto curve between the two objectives. In this context, we discuss the recentcontributions of methodologies and tools in PSE to this problem. |
